BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Dehpue Zuo, Chair

An experienced macro-economist, researcher and consultant. He has worked in both the public and private sectors, and served as Deputy Minister for International Cooperation and Economic Integration. He joined the LREC Board in 2018, but was a member of the school community prior to that as a parent and resident of the Duazon community, where LREC is located.

Nicola Sutton, Secretary

A development professional with >10 years’ experience in West Africa. As Program Manager for the DEAR Foundation, she has worked closely with LREC administration on operational matters since 2012. Previously, she has held both administrative and grant-management roles in the Australian public sector.

Hawah Goll-Kotchi

LREC’s longest-serving Board member, Hawah has been involved since 2007. Former Deputy Minister of Instruction at the Ministry of Education, Hawah brings with her a wealth of knowledge about the education sector in Liberia. In addition to her role on the LREC Board, Hawah serves as Director of the Providence Foundation, working on health and education projects in Bo Waterside, near the Liberian border with Sierra Leone.

 

Harris Fomba Tarnue

Principal and EO of the Booker Washington Institute, Harris Tarnue is a seasoned educator and management specialist. He holds Master’s Degrees in Public Sector Management and Public Procurement for Sustainable Development, as well as a Bachelor of General Law. In the past he has served as Deputy Director-General for Research and Consultancy Services at the Liberia Institute of Public Administration (LIPA), and as a member of the Transitional Legislative Assembly where he served on committees on Education, Planning & Economic Affairs, and Banking & Currency. He continues to share his expertise with others by lecturing at both the University of Liberia and Cuttington Graduate School. He is a resident of the Duazon community.

Sevim Araz

Executive Director of the DEAR Foundation in Switzerland, Sevim Araz has extensive experience in banking and private philanthropy. The DEAR Foundation has supported operations at the Liberia Renaissance Education Complex since 2016.

Dr Benetta Collins-Andrews

A Specialist Pediatrician, Dr Andrews currently serves as Chair of the Liberian Medical and Dental Council, and as Assistant Secretary General at the Liberian College of Physicians and Surgeons. She is an alumnus of the Hubert H Humphrey Fellowship Program, and remains actively involved in clinical research. Dr Andrews is also a member of the Duazon community - home to LREC.
